New Mexico Coalition Wins Guaranteed Income Pilot for Immigrant Families

A coalition of New Mexico advocates recently launched the New Mexico Guaranteed Income Pilot Program for Immigrant Families, an 18-month initiative to address poverty and economic security. The program’s evaluations are showing participating families reporting increases in housing and job security, as well as improved education outcomes for their children.

In our resource centers, we connect state advocates—and the broader field—with research, briefs, data sets, state policy examples, and more that represent the latest state early childhood policy knowledge and resources that they need to plan and inform.

In 2023:

88%
of states reported that they are working in at least one coaltion.
77%
of states reported a a policy or funding win in maternal and child health, with 26% reporting a large funding increase.
63%
of states reported a policy or funding win in family economic security, up from 43% in 2022.
