The U.S. Early Years Climate Action Plan: Opportunities for State Advocacy

Capita and This is Planet Ed (the Aspen Institute) co-convened the Early Years Climate Action Task Force to create the U.S. Early Years Climate Action Plan. In this session, we heard about the recommendations from their new report, “Flourishing Children, Healthy Children, and a Stronger Nation: The U.S. Early Years Climate Action Plan” (released on October 12). Participants also engaged in a generative discussion about how state advocacy efforts across a range of early childhood policies – from early learning to health to family support – can adapt so that young children and the practitioners and organizations that serve them can flourish in the face of climate change.

Our allies from Hawaii were also on hand to respond to the recommendations and share perspectives and insights from their recent experience with wildfires in their state.
