Education Counsel

EducationCounsel is an education consulting firm that combines significant experience in policy, strategy, law, and advocacy to drive improvements in the U.S. education system through the development and advancement of evidence-based ideas at the local, state, and national levels.

EducationCounsel’s deep institutional knowledge and partnerships with major stakeholders and policymakers at all levels help bring together the threads of policy, program design, and implementation for our clients, many of whom are leading nonprofits, foundations, state education agencies, school districts, and institutions. We work with clients from the conception of their goals through efforts to build consensus and create implementation plans to actualize them, providing ongoing counsel to address the complexities of the laws, policies, and stakeholders at all levels.

Our state allies can call on Education Counsel to:

Provide one-on-one consultations to build their capacity to engage with their state's congressional delegations.

State advocates have a unique expertise and ability to influence their congressional delegation on early childhood policy and funding issues, and Education Counsel can provide support for ongoing outreach and engagement — as well as rapid response counsel when timing is crucial.

Additional Alliance-funded support for state advocates includes:

  • Providing regular “up-to-the-minute” updates on federal action to state allies. Education Counsel provides information on the latest action at the federal level on a broad range of issues affecting young children (e.g. child care, health, child welfare, safety net, and racial equity).
  • Leading the StateFedConnect community of practice. The Alliance for Early Success’ StateFedConnect community of practice strengthens the feedback loop between state early childhood advocates and their federal delegations — so advocates get the latest information on important federal actions and strengthen their ability to infleunce these actions.
