Maternal Health for All: Addressing Disparities in Underserved Communities

For decades, maternal and child health advocates have been tirelessly working to address the needs of women and children impacted by systemic inequalities. However, the spectrum of communities at a higher risk of poor health outcomes is much broader and more diverse. This eye-opening session raised awareness about the maternal health needs of underserved populations, including immigrants, rural residents, incarcerated individuals, the unhoused, and the LGBTQ+ community. 

We explored the unique challenges faced by these marginalized groups and how we can lay the foundation for a more inclusive and equitable maternal health landscape.
