The Vice President of Policy and Advocacy will oversee Texans Care for Children’s policy development and advocacy campaigns across multiple issue areas (early learning, child protection, mental health, and maternal and child health) to build momentum for policy solutions that improve the lives of Texas children and families.
The VP of Policy and Advocacy will assume direct leadership of the Policy Team, supervise each policy issue area Director, and foster a collaborative, supportive, and outcomes-driven team culture. The VP of Policy and Advocacy will serve as a member of the leadership team and will be a thought partner to the CEO, helping shape the organization’s strategic plan and future vision. This position is full-time and based in Austin, Texas.

The individual has a proven track record of success in program and people management including managing relationships with external partners, and is a high functioning “generalist,” who is a thought leader, and a self-starter. This individual will possess highly developed fundraising and communications skills. They are creative, curious, innovative, and possess a continuous improvement mindset that will advance the FCF Theory of Change. The Director will be especially skilled at building and developing key stakeholder relationships and overseeing the FCF state office. This is a remote position based in Vermont; the candidate must reside within the state.

In this mid-level role, the Early Learning Policy Director builds high-impact relationships with coalition partners and government stakeholders; advances Children’s Alliance advocacy priorities: and represents Children’s Alliance publicly as a trusted thought leader.
