The Alliance for Early Success has hired Emily Workman to lead its Responsive Support functions, where she will oversee customized engagements between national subject matter experts and specialized consultants with anyone working at the state level to improve state early childhood policies.
She brings well over a decade of experience advising state and local leaders from across the 50 states on evidence-based early childhood and K-12 education policies.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Workman was the Managing Director of Strategy and Partnerships at the Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center at Vanderbilt University, where she empowered states with the rigorous evidence necessary to support the advocacy for effective and equitable policies that ensure all children thrive from the start. There she helped set the strategic direction for the Center and led the state relations, communications, and events teams.
Beyond her professional work, she is a certified birth doula and childbirth educator and is an elected member of her local school board.
“Demand for responsive support is growing and changing–every state is different and their needs can shift in a moment’s notice,” says Albert Wat, the Alliance’s Deputy Director for Advocacy and Impact. “Emily knows early childhood policy inside and out, but we are especially excited about her vision for the systems and processes that will help us make Alliance’s responsive support even more comprehensive, impactful, and efficient.”
