The Alliance for Early Success is a 50-state resource for early-childhood advocates as they pursue the big, sustained impact that will ensure every child in every state, birth through age eight, has an equal chance to grow, learn, and succeed.
As the early childhood policy advocacy community celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15), we express our gratitude to first Latina Surgeon General Dr. Antonia Novello for her trailblazing child health policy work and the immeasurable impact she has had on the lives of our country’s children and their families.
The Alliance for Early Success is launching a new community of practice for state advocacy organizations to increase their capacity to engage in authentic and impactful partnerships rooted in lived experiences and the values of racial equity and shared power. The Centering Parent and Practitioner Power Community of Practice (CPPP) will be a nine-month experience dedicated to courageous conversations to deepen understanding, appreciation, and skills to equitably value the expertise of community members in policy and advocacy work.
Today, the Alliance for Early Success announced 10 leaders who will participate in the Early Childhood Emerging Policy Professionals of Color (EPPOC) cohort over the next year. This cohort represents national and state advocacy organizations from across the country.
The Alliance for Early Success joins our neighbors across the country in the commemoration of Juneteenth, the century-old-at-least holiday celebrating the real end of American enslavement – the day, two years after emancipation, that the last enslaved Americans learned of their freedom.
The Alliance for Early Success is changing the way it invests in state advocacy organizations by moving to core operating support grants, maximizing the flexibility of the funds to further the grantee’s birth-through-eight policy-advocacy work. State applicants will no longer submit grant budgets or a list of project deliverables.
This May, which is nationally recognized as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, we lift up the story of two parents whose 19th-century advocacy for their own children opened the schoolhouse doors for countless more.
We stand with the child-care providers and parents who are leading today’s #DayWithoutChildCare campaign, because it’s clear that equity in early care and education is essential to equitable opportunity in every community across the country.

The Alliance for Early Success and ZERO TO THREE (ZTT) launched a new cohort of Emerging Leaders in Infant and Toddler Policy. The target audience for this community of practice (CoP) is leaders who are new to infant and toddler policy and advocacy, and who have limited access to peer-based professional development opportunities.
