FV@W provides funding, technical assistance, and peer learning to state coalitions to win Earned Sick and Safe Days and paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance in the states, creating the models, movement, and momentum to win federal policy change.

FV@W has deep messaging expertise. The organization can help state advocates distinguish between messaging for sick leave and paid leave bills, and it can also support advocates with guidance on countering issue framing around ongoing costs.

Building diverse coalitions within the paid leave and child care movements, centering the leadership and voice of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) women in leading these efforts and work to mobilize and align with early childhood advocates behind these efforts. FV@W staff will work with their state partners to build and bridge relationships with the Alliance’s state partners and other national networks’ state-based partners, assess current political landscapes, and the ability to pass strong childcare and paid leave policy solutions that center the most impacted communities.
