After receiving dozens of applications and collecting feedback on them from diverse review teams, the Alliance for Early Success (the Alliance) announced today that 16 states are finalists for Child Care NEXT — a grant program to support transformational change in a state’s child-care system.
As the Alliance for Early Success joins others in marking the day when justice was deferred no longer, the organization is reaffirming its commitment to continuing to name the racism that is entrenched in our country’s systems – both in our policies and in the comfortable habits that perpetuate inequity.

The unprecedented demand reflects a growing interest at the state level in bolder and more equitable child-care solutions.

The Alliance for Early Success announced today that it has added Marquita Little Numan to its staff as a Senior Policy Director. Numan comes to the Alliance from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, where she served as a Leadership Officer and supported the organization’s mission to advance educational, social, racial, and economic equity.
