National Center for Family and Parent Leadership (NCFPL)
At the National Center for Family and Parent Leadership (NCFPL), we believe we can strengthen early childhood systems, programs and policies by elevating parent leadership and centering the lived experiences of families who public programs and services are intended to serve. Family and parent leadership is a set of intentional practices and values that systems, agencies, and organizations adopt to build the structures that empower parents to influence decisions about early childhood programs and services.
Powered by the Early Childhood Investment Corporation, NCFPL offers comprehensive tools, training, and customized technical assistance to help states, organizations, and communities embed equity-focused family and parent leadership into everyday practice.
State allies can call on the National Center for Family and Parent Leadership to:
Deepen authentic family engagement strategies to advance policy advocacy work.
Embed family leadership and power-sharing into coalition decision-making bodies.
Strengthen practices that support family engagement -- e.g. recruitment, orientation, compensation, training.
