Abriana ensures the Alliance’s grantmaking practices are clear and accessible for grantees to navigate. She leads the ongoing development and improvement of grantmaking operations and internal systems that help the Alliance coordinate its work and support grantees.
She has extensive experience in managing complex grantmaking operations, improving organizational infrastructure, and supporting collaborative initiatives that advance systems change across philanthropy and public systems.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Abriana managed a regional Early Care and Education Funder’s Collaborative at the Washington Area Women’s Foundation, supporting advocacy and systems change efforts impacting more than 100,000 children, families, and early childhood providers. Abriana has also worked across three public education systems, supporting school systems in using data, community engagement, and operational strategy to improve access and outcomes for students and families. Across her career, she has been invested in building more equitable systems that better serve children, families, and communities.
Abriana has a bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s degree in management, both from Wake Forest University. Beyond her professional work, Abriana is a maternal health and reproductive justice advocate . In her spare time, she works as a doula, lactation consultant, and herbalist, supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.
