Emily Workman, M.A.
Emily leads the Responsive Support functions of the Alliance, maximizing customized engagements between national subject matter experts and specialized consultants with anyone working at the state level to improve state early childhood policies. She brings well over a decade of experience advising state and local leaders from across the 50 states on evidence-based early childhood and K-12 education policies.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Emily was the Managing Director of Strategy and Partnerships at the Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center at Vanderbilt University, where she empowered states with the rigorous evidence necessary to support advocacy efforts for effective and equitable policies that ensure all children thrive from the start. There she helped set the strategic direction for the Center and led the state relations, communications, and events teams.
Beyond her professional work, she is a certified birth doula and childbirth educator and is an elected member of her local school board.
Emily has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a master’s degree in Comparative and International Social Policy from the University of York in England.
