One of the signature reforms of the Family First Act is a new state option for federal Title IV-E Family First Prevention Programs. States that take this option can be reimbursed for evidence-based prevention services, including home visiting, to help more children remain safely at home with their families and avoid needing foster care.
This resource center provides general information for state early childhood advocates on the Family First Prevention Program, as well as specific resources that highlights ways in which the new state option creates opportunities to design and finance home visiting and other programs and services that promote the health and well-being of young children and their families.
