Building on the foundation of Indian Health 101, this session will focus on creating culturally safe spaces within health and allied health systems for American Indian and Alaska Native mothers, children, and families. Participants will learn how cultural safety goes beyond cultural competence—addressing systemic biases, honoring Indigenous knowledge, and building relationships rooted in trust and reciprocity.
The webinar will highlight real-world strategies, stories from Native mothers, and collaborative approaches to advocacy, ensuring that health systems meet the needs of AI/AN communities in respectful, effective, and sustainable ways.
